Tamba And Seville

Two characters for a story I've had in my head for awhile (yes, another one). I've had the idea for a few months now, but this is one of the first times I've even drawn the only two characters I've completely thought of for it. Unlike most of my stories, this one doesn't currently have any fantasy elements in it (doesn't mean I won't find a way to add them in) and mostly takes place in a city.

The characters have been with me as long as I've had the idea, but I don't have much about them developed yet.

The character on the left is dubbed as Tamba in one of my notes (the name might change). He often has a rather tired look on his face. Tamba is a trans boy who has run away from home for not being accepted by his family and surprisingly survives pretty decently on the streets (despite being like 12). He hasn't fully transitioned (as in physically) and wishes to one day to have the money to do so. Well, one day he meets Seville (the kid on the right) and goes to live with him and as a fairly better life than he did at home and on the streets. I don't have much else on him, but one of my notes states that he's slowly going deaf (possibly due to some kind of ear infection). I usually imagine him having a pony tail, and I honestly tried to draw it but I couldn't get it right so it's just magically invisible in this picture.

So the kid on the right is Seville, and as you can tell by the picture of him, he is a total anime (just look at that blue hair). Seville is actually a mute kid who is wealthy in facial expressions and is a very kind and sweet child. He can write and understand English/the common language and possibly knows some sign language. He also is the crime fighter known as Sweeper who literally fights criminals with a broom (yes, really). He is part of an organization (probably owned by a parent or something) and he basically lives at the headquarters. Then he goes and pretends to be like a janitor or something a museums and other places only to stop thieves and criminals with a broom.

So yeah they're both like 12. Probably not realistic for a 12 year old to run away from home and be okay and for the other to be allowed to fight criminals but it's fiction.

But anyways one day when Seville is walking around the city he meets Tamba and quickly befriends him (despite Tamba being lost at the blue-haired kid's lack of words). Tamba then tags along on Seville's adventures and lives at the crime-fighting headquarters. I have yet to figure out if Tamba does much fighting along side Seville, but he does often help out in other ways (he's a smart kid) and while Seville is kind of smart himself, he often doesn't notice things as quickly as Tamba.

So yeah the story is about them stopping criminals and thieves (which probably are one gang all aware of Sweeper/Seville). Sort of a coming of age story with Tamba struggling with his identity and with the two main characters being like 12 (although they could be like 14, but they're definitely not 15 or 16).
I'm still trying to figure much of the plot and characters (probably should have more than two) but I would be interested in trying to figure this story out. It does feature an official trans character of mine (one of my friends as been telling me I need one and I agree). Also a mute main character would be an interesting twist (sure, it's common in video games, but definitely not heard of much in literature).

Those clothes probably aren't official to be honest. Tamba just seems like someone who suits the color orange to me and Seville is more gray and blue. I feel like Seville should have a name tag on his shirt somewhere too.
