I've made journals for some of my favorite anime characters, so why not make one featuring some of my favorite characters from video games?
Most of these are in no order, but I'll start with my favorite.
"Poyo!"
If it wasn't obvious enough, Kirby is my favorite video game character. He was actually the first one I was ever introduced to. The first time I saw him was when I watched my cousins play Super Smash Bros. Melee, and I've always liked the character since. I've played most of the Kirby games (but not all of them) and have beaten several of them (although I have no 100% file completions on any game but I've gotten close on some).
So why do I love Kirby? It's simple. He's cute and he's tough. I mean look at him. He's freaking adorable. And I always really love the color pink, which is nice because Kirby is a perfect example of how pink does not make a person weak. He is the super tough pink puff after all. His love of food is really relate-able too (of course few share his appetite). I also really love how his series features stars. Stars are my favorite symbol.
So onto his games, I'm going to be honest here, I kind of suck at plat-formers usually, but the ones in the Kirby series are really fun. I really find myself frustrated on a Kirby level, and if I am it's probably because I'm trying to get one of though extra things for file completion. The plot of the games if usually simple, but the games are usually so charming that you don't need a complicated plot.
Another thing I like is Kirby's main copy ability. There are so many powers to choose from in each game, and now there are a lot of attacks each power can do so there's a lot to try out. The series also has some great characters like his sometimes friend sometime enemy King DeDeDe, the mysterious Meta Knight, all the Waddle Dees, and the other characters like Marx (Marx has a great battle theme ok).
Onto the next one (the others hopefully won't be as long). There is no order for the rest.
Next one I'll write about is Toadette, another pink character. XD: They won't all be pink, I promise.
I really like playing as Toadette in the Mario Party and Mario Kart games, but it makes me sad that she hasn't gotten many roles in the Mario series. It looks like she could have a role in Captain Toad, but besides that, the only game I can think of that she has a role in is Paper Mario and the Thousand Year Old Door where she appears to explain how to use the new boots and hammers that Mario gets.
Don't worry Toadette, one day you will be the hero.
I also like Toad but I'm not putting him on this.
Next is Yoshi, who I like to occasionally play as in Smash. I do enjoy the Yoshi Island games too, but I have to say...that 3DS one really needs a different song. That same song plays on like every stage. x.x
I still will probably get Yoshi's Wooly World because it looks fun.
Next:
"Okay."
I always liked playing as Ness in Smash but I never got to play his game until recently, and I have to say the Mother series is really addicting. I love RPGs, but it was nice having a change from the usual swords and sorcery stuff (but I do love that too). An RPG in a modern setting? Who knew that could be so quirky. X3 I knew of the Giygas battle already, but it was really intense playing it for myself. It's almost too bad that Nintendo doesn't do much with this series other than put Ness in Smash.
Ness was my favorite kid in Earthbound next to Paula (I like Jeff and Poo too). In Mother 3 I like Kumatora and Lucas, but all the characters were cool.

Yet another generally silent character outside of noises, here's Starfy! Only one of his games has made it to the US, but I love every second of it. The game is kind of Kirby-ish, but it maintains its own feel. The characters are great too. Moe and Starly really make up for Starfy's lack of dialogue.
I really wish they'd release the other four games here. I really want to play the fourth one.
next
Last Nintendo one (there are others like Bunnie from Animal Crossing but for lack of space this is the last Nintendo). Of course Pokemon counts. Totodile is my favorite one.
next
Tails Miles Prower. The Sonic series has really changed over the years, but I've always liked Tails. I like playing as him in the Sonic Adventure games.
I also like Cream, Amy, Tikal, and the Chao but I don't want to post them all here.
Next
The Slimes from the Dragon Quest series! Awww I love these guys. They're a rather basic monster, but the Slime Family is large and I love breeding for them in Dragon Warrior Monsters. Also, Rocket Slime features a complete cast of slimes! How much better could it get?
Also from Dragon Quest:
Terry
I have to admit though, I haven't played the main game she's from, but I have played Dragon Warrior Monsters where his younger self is playable. We don't learn much about him in that game other than the fact that he wants to win the Starry Night tournament to save his sister who he ends up facing in the final round
However, then there's the strange swordsman that occasionally appears and who we eventually fight
Oh his name is Terry
So future Terry is there and blah blah blah you fight him spoilers blah (obvious inspiration for that one story I've mentioned)
However, you name the main character at the beginning, but it's implied that is just a fake name and that you are indeed Terry.
The remake makes the characters look more alike. They look nothing a like in the gameboy color game.
I'm only doing like one or two more because I'm getting tired,
Mephilia Venus from Bravely Default I love her design and the summoner class is amazing.
I'm stuck on the battle with her and her sisters. How does anyone beat that
last one for now and also from Bravely Default
"Does that ring a bell?"
Ringabel. To be honest I love all the main characters but some of Ringabel and Edea's dialogue is hilarious.
His true identity really makes him better too. He wasn't my favorite at first, but he's grown on me.
That's all for now. Thanks for reading.

Random journal time. My second awful work week is finally over. |D I had to work six days in a row...have one day off...and then work four more days twice this month. But that's finally over! I won't have to do this again unless I need a random day off, and I might work Monday instead of Sunday if I do that. I am starting to build-up some PTO (paid time off) again, but I might what to save that up for something. I've been to two baby showers this month. Usually people have just one (I think) but my brother and his wife had one with her family and one with mine. We're getting very close to her due date, and I still don't know how I feel about being "Aunt Audrey" but I'm still excited for them. XD They're not telling us what names they're picking and they won't know the gender until the kid is born, which is fine. At least I know they won't pick a stupid name (specifically, one of these: https://www.reddit.com/r/tragedeigh/ ) so I'm not worried about whatever they choose. I am a
All Open Adopts
Here's a journal compiling all of the adopts I have that I still open. Some are rather old. :XD: Multiple adopts are still open on this Draw-to-Adopts sheet. 3, 6, 8, 9, 10, 12, and 13 are still open. Two of these point adopts are still open! 4 and 13 are still open! All three of these weird draw-to-adopts are still open. The second one is still open here! Draw-to-adopt. Draw-to-adopts. 5, 6, and 8 are still open. Another draw-to-adopt. 5 is still open. ...And I think that's all of them! Most are draw-to-adopts. I wonder if the people who adopted the old ones ever use them or even remember adopting them. Hopefully my children are not completely forgotten. |D
A Dilemma
So I've been working on character bio pictures for an old 2015 story, and I've run into a problem. The next character I need to draw has no design... :XD: This is the character, according to my notes: "Onyx: Saffron’s childhood friend who fell into darkness. Onyx was once a friendly, optimistic person who was kind to everyone. Sometime before he lost his senses, he built EVE to protect Saffron from himself. Despite his evil intentions, he seems to have retained all of his memories and it’s hinted part of him isn’t evil. He is the main antagonist for a good chunk of the story. Onyx joins the party late into the story. His stats are all decent. He uses powerful dark and lightning magic." (my notes were written as if this story was going to be an RPG) There are multiple issues here, one being that I used the name "Onyx" for another character already ( https://toyhou.se/19869842.onyx ) though I already have a few OCs with the same name so that's not a huge issue. But literally every
CharacterHub
CharacterHub is now open to the public so I made an account! https://characterhub.com/profile/SoftenStar I haven't posted much yet, but it has a ton of features and things. Posting all 374 of my finished character bios there will take awhile...but maybe I'll slowly work on that. I think it wouldn't hurt to have a backup to Toyhouse though, so putting in the time and effort to put everything there might be worth it. There's a ton of sections and stuff you can add to your OCs profiles though, and you can create sections for story worlds which is honestly pretty cool. idk what the limit is on things but hopefully they allow accounts to have hundreds of characters...because I have hundreds of characters.
